How to Start a Fresh World on Your Eco Server
ECO1 min readUpdated Oct 22, 2026
Sometimes the meteor has landed, the economy has run its course, or you want a bigger world. Eco keeps the whole world in one folder, so a fresh start is deleting that folder while the server is stopped.
Back Up First
- Log in to your game panel and click your Eco server.
- take a manual backup if there is any chance you want the old world back. A deleted world cannot be recovered without one.
Stop the Server
- On the Console page press Stop and wait until the status reads offline.
Delete the Storage Folder
- Open Files in the left menu.
- Delete the
Storagefolder. It holds the world, every player's property and skills, the laws and the economy. - To keep a copy on the server instead, rename it, for example to
Storage-old.
Change the World Settings and Start
- This is the moment to change the world size, the meteor or the difficulty in the
Configsfolder. - Press Start. Eco generates a new world, which takes several minutes; the console shows the progress.
Good to Know
- Configs stay. The
Configsfolder is not part of the world, so your server name, admins and difficulty survive the reset. - Mods stay too. Everything in
Modsis kept and loads into the new world. - Players keep their accounts but start with nothing: no skills, no property, no currency.
- Announce it. Eco cannot show a message from the console, so tell the community in advance where you normally talk to them.
Finished
The server runs a new world. Set the admins again if you changed the Users file, and the civilisation can start over.
