How to Join Your Eco Server
ECO2 min readUpdated Oct 22, 2026
Your Eco server is installed and running a new world. Eco is joined from the game's own menu with the server address, or from the public server list once your server is listed. Here is where to find the address and how everyone gets in.
Find Your Server Address
- Log in to your game panel and click your Eco server.
- On the Console page the How to join card shows the Address (ip and port). Click it to copy.
- The status next to the server name has to read RUNNING. The first start generates the world and takes several minutes; the console shows the progress.
Join With the Address
- Start Eco and choose Play, then Join Game.
- Use Direct Connect at the top, enter the address from the panel and join.
- If you set a Server Password on the Game Settings page, Eco asks for it here.
Join From the Server List
- With Public Server set to Listed on the Game Settings page, the server appears in Eco's server list under its Server Name.
- Listing needs your Server Owner Token from play.eco, under your account. Paste it on the Game Settings page and restart.
- Without the token the server runs fine; it is just not in the list, and players join with the address.
Good to Know
- Everyone needs the same Eco version. The server updates itself on every start when Auto Update is on, so restart it after an Eco update before your players update their game.
- Eco players need an account at play.eco or a Steam copy; the server itself needs nothing from them beyond that.
- Give the server a clear name and description. The Detailed Description and Playtime fields on the Game Settings page are shown in the server list and help people decide to join.
Finished
You are in the world. Next, make yourself admin, and look at the meteor and world settings before the civilisation gets going.
