Why host your own 7 Days to Die server?
7 Days to Die is the zombie survival game where the calendar is the enemy: every seventh night the blood moon horde comes for your base, and everything between is scavenging, crafting and building for it. A dedicated server of your own keeps that world running around the clock, so friends can loot, build and repair the walls whenever they like, and nobody has to keep a PC on as the host.
Our 7 Days to Die hosting runs the official dedicated server on AMD Ryzen CPUs with fast cores, which the game's horde nights and world generation lean on, with NVMe storage for large random worlds and VibeSHIELD DDoS protection. Pick stable or experimental, Navezgane or a random world, crossplay or PC-only, all from the control panel. The server is online within minutes of ordering.
Which 7 Days to Die plan do you need?
The map size and the number of players set the memory. A random 10K world with a full horde night is a different load from Navezgane with four friends:
A small group: 7DTD I
6 GB and two threads for 2 to 6 players on Navezgane or a 6K random world, vanilla or a few modlets.
A full crossplay server: 7DTD II
8 GB and three threads for 6 to 8 players, the crossplay maximum, on an 8K world with modlets and a longer-running save.
PC-only communities: 7DTD III to IV
12 to 16 GB and up to six threads for 8 to 32 players on 10K worlds, overhaul mods such as Darkness Falls or Undead Legacy and big bases. Upgrading keeps your world.
Maps, mods, crossplay and settings
Everything the dedicated server supports is in the panel, and the serverconfig.xml is yours for the rest.
Navezgane or a random world
Run the hand-made Navezgane map or generate a random world of 6K, 8K or 10K from any seed. Large worlds take a few minutes to generate on the first start and want the bigger plans.Modlets and overhauls
Upload modlets and overhaul mods to the Mods folder over SFTP or the file manager; the server loads them on restart. Mods that ship code need EasyAntiCheat off, which makes the server PC-only.Every rule in serverconfig.xml
Difficulty, day length, blood moon frequency and size, zombie speed, loot abundance and respawn, land claim size, drop on death, airdrops and the player cap are all in serverconfig.xml, editable from the panel. The built-in web dashboard adds a live map in your browser.
7 Days to Die server locations worldwide
Low ping is half the fun. Our 7 Days to Die servers run in 15 datacenters across Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Oceania and Africa, every one on the same AMD Ryzen hardware with NVMe storage and behind VibeSHIELD, our own DDoS protection network with 17 Tb/s of mitigation capacity. You pick the location at checkout, and the latency checker below shows your real ping to each one before you order.
Outgrown your first choice? Our team moves your server to another location on request, with your files intact, so the location you start in is never a lock-in.
Your first steps after ordering
The server is delivered installed, on the stable branch, running Navezgane. Getting your own world live takes a few steps:
- 1Set the server name, password and player cap in serverconfig.xml
- 2Choose Navezgane or a random world size and seed
- 3Decide between crossplay and PC-only, and switch EAC off if you run code mods
- 4Upload your modlets to the Mods folder
- 5Restart from the panel and join from the in-game server browser or by address
Switching from another 7 Days to Die host?
A 7 Days to Die world lives in the Saves folder, named after the world and the game name in your config. Copy that folder plus serverconfig.xml and your Mods, upload them over SFTP, keep the same GameWorld and GameName, restart, and bases, land claims and characters are where you left them.
- 1
Download the Saves folder of your world and your serverconfig.xml from the old host
- 2
Upload them over SFTP, with the same Mods folder
- 3
Point the config at the same world name and seed, restart and rejoin

DDoS protection
VibeSHIELD, our globally anycasted DDoS-protected network, now spans 46 scrubbing locations worldwide. Every point of presence filters traffic the instant it lands, stopping attacks as close to the source as possible, long before they ever reach your server.
All 46 locations combine into one unified DDoS-protected fabric, so the full capacity of the entire network backs every individual server. Layer that on top of custom game-aware filtering, tuned for the protocols our customers actually use, and it doesn't matter how big the attack is or how long it lasts. Your players stay connected.
