How to Create a Manual Backup
Control panel1 min readUpdated Aug 28, 2026
Backups let you roll your server back when an update or script change goes wrong. Creating one manually takes a few clicks; if you would rather have this happen on a schedule, see how to set up automatic backups.
Open the Backups Page
- In the control panel, open your server and click Backups in the left menu under Management.
- The page has two tabs: Files for your server files and Databases for your MySQL databases. Pick what you want to back up and click Create backup.
Name and Start the Backup
- Optionally give the backup a name; leave it blank for an auto-generated one.
- Switch on Lock this backup if it must never be removed by automatic cleanup or deleted until you unlock it.
- Press Start backup.
Finished
Your backup appears in the list once it completes, with its size, checksum and when it auto-deletes (locked backups are kept until you unlock them). Use the menu on the right of the row to restore or download the backup later.
