How to Set Up Crossplay on Your Palworld Server

Palworld can put Steam, Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Mac players on the same server, but only if the server allows those platforms. Two settings control it, and the difference between them is where most of the confusion comes from. Here is what each one does and how to set them.
Open Your Platform Settings
- Log in to your game panel and click your Palworld server.
- Click Game Settings in the left menu under GAME SERVER.
- Everything you need is in the General section: Connection Platform and Crossplay Platforms.
Understand the Two Settings
- Connection Platform decides which platform your server itself runs as and which players may connect at all. Leave this on Steam unless you have a specific reason to change it.
- Crossplay Platforms is the list of platforms allowed to play together, written as a comma separated list, for example
Steam,Xbox,PS5,Mac. - A platform that is missing from Crossplay Platforms cannot join, no matter what the players do on their end.
Turn On the Platforms You Want
- Set Crossplay Platforms to the platforms your group actually uses. To allow everyone, use
Steam,Xbox,PS5,Mac. - Do not put spaces after the commas.
- The value saves automatically and an amber banner appears: Settings saved. Restart the server to apply your changes.
- Go to Console and press Restart. Platform settings are written to the server configuration on boot, so nothing changes until it restarts.
Tell Console Players How to Join
- Steam players can connect straight to your
ip:port. See how to join your Palworld server. - Xbox and PlayStation players cannot type an address. They have to open Join Multiplayer Game, switch to the Community Servers list, and search for your Server Name.
- This is why a distinctive server name matters more once you allow consoles: it is the only way those players can find you.
Good to Know
- Crossplay is a server setting, not a player setting. If a friend on Xbox cannot see or join your server, the fix is on your side in Game Settings, not in their game.
- A password does not block console players. If you set a Server Password, console players are asked for it in the community list just like everyone else.
- Keep Player Authentication on. In the Advanced section, Player Authentication should stay enabled. Turning it off weakens who can claim to be whom on your server.
Finished
Your server now accepts the platforms you chose, and everyone in your group can get in. If a console player still cannot find the server in the list, read why your Palworld server is not in the server list.
