How to Connect to Your Rust Server
Rust2 min czytaniaZaktualizowano 29 sie 2026
Your Rust server is running and you need to get onto it. Rust has no "add server by address" box in its menus, so the reliable way in is the in-game console. It takes about ten seconds once you know the command.
Find Your Server Address
- Log in to your game panel and click your Rust server.
- On the Console page, the SERVER panel on the left shows ADDRESS as an IP and a port, for example
185.195.237.243:28015. - Click it to copy. Check the status next to your server name reads RUNNING before you try to join.
- A Rust server takes a few minutes to start, longer after a wipe or an update, because it generates the map before it accepts anyone.
Connect From the In-Game Console
- Start Rust and press F1 to open the console.
- Type the connect command with your own address, and press Enter:
client.connect 185.195.237.243:28015
- Rust closes the console and joins. The first connection downloads the map, so give it a moment.
Save It as a Favourite
- Once you are in, open the server list and mark the server as a favourite so you do not need the console next time.
- Alternatively press F1 and run
client.connectagain. Rust remembers recent addresses in the console history, so pressing the up arrow brings it back.
Good to Know
- Use the port from the panel. Rust's default is
28015, but your server does not necessarily use it. The panel shows the real one. - Modded servers may need nothing extra. Oxide and Carbon plugins run on the server, so you usually do not install anything to play on a modded server.
- If nothing happens, check the server is fully started. The console page shows the boot progress. Rust reports it is ready only after the map is generated and saved.
Finished
You are on your server. Next, make yourself admin so you can run commands, and set your server tags so the right players can find you in the browser.
