How to Share Access to Your Game Server (Subuser)

Want to give a friend or developer access to your game server? Never share your own password. Invite them as a subuser instead: they log in with their own account and only get the permissions you choose.

1Open the Users Page

• Log in to your game panel and click your server.
• Click Users in the left menu under MANAGEMENT.
• Press Invite user at the top right.

2Enter Their Email Address

• Fill in the Email address of the person you want to invite.
• No game panel account yet? No problem: they automatically receive an email to set up their account.
• Once you send the invite, they also get an email telling them they have been given access to your server.

3Choose Their Permissions

• Permissions are grouped per category (Control, User, File, Backup and so on). Use the toggle on a category to grant all of it, or expand a category with the arrow to pick individual permissions. The counter at the top shows how many are selected.
• Grant only what they need: a developer usually needs file and console access, not the ability to remove other users.
• Note: you can only grant permissions that you have yourself.

4Limit Folder Access (Optional)

• By default the invite gives Full access to the entire server in the Folder access section.
• Untick it to restrict the user to specific folders or files they may open in the file manager and over SFTP; picking a folder includes everything inside it.
• Press Invite user to send the invite.

Managing Existing Subusers

• The invited user can now open your server from their own game panel account.
• Their own panel password is also their SFTP password for your server.
• On the Users page you can open any subuser to change their permissions or folder access later, or remove them entirely.

Finished

Access shared, account safe. If you ever stop working with someone, remove them from the Users page and their access ends immediately.
