Question 1

What hardware does an ARK: Survival Ascended server need?

Accepted Answer

ARK: Survival Ascended runs on Unreal Engine 5 and is demanding: an empty server already uses around 10 GB of memory. Our plans therefore start at 16 GB, and we recommend 20 GB or more for larger maps, mods or more than 10 players.

Question 2

How do players find my server?

Accepted Answer

ARK: Survival Ascended servers are listed in the game's own server list under Unofficial, with Show Player Servers turned on. They do not appear in the Steam server browser, so share your server name with your players.

Question 3

Can I install mods?

Accepted Answer

Yes. ARK: Survival Ascended uses CurseForge mods. Add the mod IDs in the control panel and the server downloads and updates them when it starts. Mod maps work the same way.

Question 4

Can I connect several servers in a cluster?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Link your own servers in a cluster to transfer survivors, dinos and items between maps.

Question 5

Is DDoS protection included?

Accepted Answer

Yes. DDoS protection is included with every plan at no extra cost, so your server stays online even when it is targeted.

Question 6

How quickly is my server online?

Accepted Answer

Your server is created within minutes of ordering. The first start downloads the game and can take several minutes; restarts after that are much faster.
