How to Change EXP, Capture and Drop Rates
Palworld2 min de lecturaActualizado el 28 ago 2026
Palworld at default rates is a slow game, and on a server people play a few evenings a week that can mean nobody ever reaches the interesting part. Raising experience, capture chance and drop rates is the usual fix. Here is which settings do what, and sensible values to start from.
Open the Rate Settings
- Log in to your game panel and click your Palworld server.
- Click Game Settings in the left menu under GAME SERVER.
- The settings are spread across three groups: Rates and Multipliers, Pals, and Items and Drops. The search box at the top is the quickest way to each one.
Experience and Work Speed
- EXP Rate in Rates and Multipliers multiplies experience for players and Pals. This is the biggest single lever on how fast your server progresses.
- Work Speed Rate multiplies crafting and base work, so bases actually produce something while you are online.
- Useful starting points:
2.0for a group that plays most days,3.0for a couple of evenings a week.
Capturing Pals
- Capture Rate in the Pals group multiplies capture chance.
- Spawn Amount multiplies how many Pals are in the world, so there is something to catch.
1.5to2.0on capture rate keeps catching meaningful without making every throw succeed.
Gathering and Loot
- Gathering Drop Rate in Items and Drops multiplies what you get from trees, ore and other resources. This is the one that decides how much time goes into mining rather than building.
- Enemy Drop Rate multiplies what defeated enemies drop.
- Resource Respawn Speed decides how quickly nodes come back, which matters more than drop rate on a busy server where everything is already stripped.
- Item Weight Rate in Rates and Multipliers is the quiet one worth changing. Lower it and players carry more, so they spend less time walking back and forth.
Apply the Change
- Settings save as you go, and an amber banner appears: Settings saved. Restart the server to apply your changes.
- Go to Console and press Restart. Nothing changes until the server restarts.
Good to Know
- Difficulty Preset overrides nothing you set afterwards. Choosing a preset sets many values at once. Changing individual rates after that is fine and the individual values win, so set the preset first and tune second.
- Rates apply going forward. Raising EXP Rate does not retroactively level anyone up. It only affects experience earned from that point on.
- Raise a little at a time. Very high multipliers finish the game in a weekend, which is a hard mistake to undo without starting a fresh world.
Finished
