How to Update Your Palworld Server

When Palworld patches, your server has to be on the same build as your players or nobody can join. On a VibeGAMES server you do not have to hunt for an update button: the server checks for a newer build every time it starts, so updating is just restarting. Here is how to do it and how to confirm it worked.

1Restart the Server

• Log in to your game panel and click your Palworld server.
• On the Console page, press Restart.
• The server checks for a newer build on start and installs it before the world loads. A large patch takes a few minutes, so give it time before assuming something is wrong.

2Confirm the Version

• Watch the console output as the server boots. It prints the build it is running, on a line like Game version is v1.0.3.101283.
• The last line you want to see is Running Palworld dedicated server on :18003, with your own port.
• Compare that version with the one your players have. If they match, joining works.

3Update on a Schedule Instead

• If you already run a nightly restart, your server updates itself every night without you doing anything.

4Turn Auto Update Off

Only do this if you have a reason, such as running mods that are not ready for the newest build.

• Open the Startup page in the left menu under CONFIGURATION.
• Set Auto Update to disabled. The server then keeps its current build across restarts.
• Remember to turn it back on. A server left behind on an old build cannot be joined by anyone who has updated.

Good to Know

• Version mismatch is the usual cause of "cannot join". If players get a version error, or your server drops out of the community browser right after a patch, restart it first before looking for anything else.
• Updating does not touch your world. Your save, your settings and your players are all untouched by an update. It replaces the game files, not the world.
