How to Password-Protect Your Palworld Server

A Palworld server is public by default: anyone who finds it in the community browser can walk in. Setting a server password keeps it to the people you invite, and it takes about a minute. Here is how, and what a password does and does not do.

1Set the Server Password

• Log in to your game panel and click your Palworld server.
• Click Game Settings in the left menu under GAME SERVER.
• In the General section, find Server Password and enter the password you want. Use the eye icon to check what you typed.
• The value saves automatically, and an amber banner appears: Settings saved. Restart the server to apply your changes.
• Go to Console and press Restart.

2Give It to Your Players

• Players are asked for the password when they join, whether they connect directly to your address or find you in the community list.

3Change or Remove It Later

• To change it, type a new value and restart. Everyone already in the world stays connected until the restart.
• To make the server public again, clear the field completely and restart. An empty Server Password means no password is asked for.

Good to Know

• This is not the admin password. Server Password decides who may join. Admin Password decides who may run admin commands. Keep them different, or every player you let in can also administer your server. See how to become an admin.
• A password does not hide your server. Your server still appears in the community browser. Players simply cannot get in without the password.
• A password is not a ban. Someone who already has it keeps access until you change it. To remove one specific person, ban them with the admin commands and keep the password as it is.
